With a few exceptions, including if your property is a listed building, a temporary structure or is a place of worship, there is a legal requirement for all commercial properties for sale or to let to have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). An EPC is used to rate how efficient your commercial property is using grades A-G, with A being the most efficient and you can be fined if you are unable to make an EPC available to any prospective tenant or purchaser.
On 1 April 2018, landlords of buildings within the scope of the MEES Regulations must not renew existing tenancies or grant new tenancies if the building has less than the minimum energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of E.
The DeriazĀ Campsie team can organise the inspection for you, in a timely manner, and the surveyor can offer advice on ways to improve the energy efficiency of your property, in order to reduce costs and enhance capital values.
